Notes from a Tour Manager.

Enjoy it, He’s Honest!

So I am back from 3 weeks in Australia.
Its… an interesting country to say the least but I had a good time and looking forward to another tour there in the near future.
The best thing about that tour was meeting several great people who I will probably be friends with for the rest of my life.

If you want a super in-depth blog.. do check out Ben’s @ – http://hooftas.blogspot.com/ Enjoy it, he’s honest!

Japan is once again on the cards. I depart on Thursday. Flying with Virgin Atlantic, which is a first for me. I will be tour managing BLESSED (Formerly Blessed By A Broken Heart) who are to open the huge Loud Park festival at the Makuhari Messe Hall (much like the UK’s NEC in Birmingham).. where the band will be sharing the stage with the likes of Judas Priest, Steel Panther, Slayer and Megadeth to name a few.

I am always excited to go to Japan more than any other place. The reason for this is that its so dramatically different to life in the UK..and touring anywhere else for that matter. I love the vending machines, I love the super-fast Internet and best of all the people are some of the most hard-working, respectable and polite I have ever come in contact with.

Who knows what the back end of the year holds out. I really do want to hit New York City before Christmas.. so I’m going to make that happen.

PS – Do purchase ‘The Resistance’ by MUSE.. It is phenomenal.

Oh Haiii

I’ve made a few posts about Japan.
Probably too many. Thing is, I really love the place.

Ben Schauland, Tyler Hoare and myself fly out on the 2nd May. We’re there till the 12th for 4 shows, so it should be real good fun.
The rest of the band fly out the day after.

I will be ‘tweeting’ a lot I assume – www.twitter.com/charleswbrown | www.twitter.com/bbabhofficial | www.myspace.com/blessedbyabrokenheart - be sure to check all of those links for silly updates too.

I think we’re videoing everything and we’ll probably post an update-a-day or every other day at least. In High Def, of course!

We have some other great touring news that we hope to reveal in the up and coming weeks. Can’t say anything just yet.

Anyway, go and read some of Meg’s writing. Its great: http://ghxstwritings.wordpress.com/

 Over and out,
- Charlie.

The End

Well my time as ‘Still Remains Tour Manager’ is over.

The band played their last home show on the 30th April. Their last ever show will be at Cornerstone Festival. I don’t think I will be there due to obligations out of my hands but I will try to be there.

I’ve been doing some calculations. I worked with Still Remains for 102 shows, which is around 112,000 people in the audience, in around 15 countries, travelling over 65,000 to get to the shows….all since October ‘07, not even a year!

I think Japan was my favourite place to tour with the band but seriously, every tour is like a crazy, yet amazing part of my life.

I’ve met so many great people its un-real. I try to keep in touch with most of them, or at least add them on the respective social networking sites, y’know, MySpace/facebook.

This last tour, in the USA…we travelled over 10,500 miles, playing 40 shows with zero off days. I honestly loved every minute of it. Well, being hospitalised for a serious throat infection wasn’t the best, but it was cool to experience an American medical centre.

So, to all the people I’ve met during my Still Remains career. It has, honestly been a pleasure! If we’re not ‘digital friends’ then add me on MySpace (www.myspace.com/charleswbrown) or facebook! (search, Charles W. Brown)…

My music career does continue though. With Madina Lake. I will be at the Download Festival as production manager for the band. The performance will be amazing, we have some treats in store! Muhaha.

Thankyou everyone and Thankyou Still Remains.

- Charlie.
