Notes from a Tour Manager.

Happy Birthday Kirsty

I haven’t had a chinese take-away in ages, so Friday night was quite a treat for myself. I ordered the common sweet n’ sour pork w/rice while Leona ordered some beefy, peppery, black beany thing and boiled rice. It was actually quite nice.

Yesterday was Miss Kirsty North’s birthday party. It was held at Batley Town Hall and featured a movie/TV themed fancy dress. I went as Lurch from the Addams family but I hardly feature on any of the pictures, as they are my own. Kirsty, Chris, Joe and Jamie took pictures so I assume I am on some of those!

It was a really cool night (July Rising even played!!) and today is Kirsty’s actual birthday, so Happy Birthday Kirsty!!!

Right, im now going to play on all the amps and guitars I collected after the gig.

Charlie.

PS Did anyone notice a cloud of dust circling the moon? A satellite crashed landed onto our natural satellite this morning.
PPS I’m also still angry Pluto is no longer a planet per se, it is now a dwarf planet.

…Can Be Seen From Space

I was just reading an article on the Great Wall of China and it contained the notorious “its so gigantic it can be seen from space” quote. Now this always, and I mean always baffles me as surely just about anything can be seen from Space.

Aside from the fact we have the satellites that have 100-Gigapixel Macro lenses attached to them I also doubt that anyone could see anything from space with their naked eye, apart from the odd Russia-sized country.

The Great Wall however, is not alone, one of the Millenium Dome’s selling points was that it could be seen from Space (who knows why), once again I incredibly doubt this “fact” without the use of a satellite.

Anyway back on to more important matters: Digital editing has commenced on the Chenai video, I hope to have a copy of this online by next week, I’ll add it to the new Media > Video section! I have also a re-edited part of my Recycling documentary if anyone remembers that? Well, that will be in that section too.

If you haven’t already noticed I re-coded the links part of the site, its much easiar to read now and its also easiar for me to update. The older version will stay online but I won’t be updating it.

I’m also considering moving photo galleries: from Coppermine to Flickr. How does that sound? My old gallery will stay online but it won’t be updated as often as Flickr (I don’t think), yet it will be reserved for more personal events rather than public ones which I have been using Flickr for.

Space, Photos & I.D.

In no particular order….

I.D.
A multi-topic post today, firstly I was I.D’d for the first time yesterday (at the Dry Dock, Leeds) and unfortunatley I had none which meant I had to go home. What makes it worse is that I hardly never go to Leeds and I believe this is some sort of message asking me not to return again. In other news, everyone else had a good night at Leeds which was nice.

Space, the final frontier
I am constantly facinated by space and the cosmos and today I viewed a partial eclipse of the Sun by the moon. Unfortunatley, I don’t live in Libya so I couldn’t get the full view. Instead I had 10/20% of it, which was equally as interesting. I was so excited I told a whopping three people: Dave (who missed it), Matt and Richard (both of which caught it, I think). I had the Canon EOS at so I snapped a picture:

Photo’s
And finally…today I took some pictures of July Rising – they wanted some new band pictures so I jumped at the chance to take them. To wet your appetite, here is one.

Until next time…
Charlie.
