Broadband Lives

Well, this is my 301st post, just so you know. I’ve been blogging for nearly two years now and the site has come a long way in that time.

Anyway, last night Jamie and I went to see ‘Outlaw’ it was a pretty good film. Very violent and very ‘British’. However, it did tend to stick to two camera techniques; one was to violently jerk it constantly (usually on close ups) and the other was an exceedingly smooth tracking shot. It was slightly erratic at times but other than that a good film.

Today I’ve been re-doing the site for my documentary ‘Broadband Lives’ which is, I think the title we’re sticking with. I also visited my cousin’s, Mr Stephen Mulligan’s and Mr Kyle Varney’s.

Who knows what I’m up to tonight. Probably seeing Chris et al.

Here’s a nice animated stereo gram.

Can you work out what the image is?

Magic Numberee

Since I can’t remember what I did on thursday night lets concentrate on what I did on Friday.

Well, work springs to mind, the usual 4-10 shift. It had its exceedingly busy moments but nothing I couldn’t cope with. After all it is only cooking meatballs and fish, nothing extravagent.

I do know I’ve been working on this ‘Individual Report’ quite a bit. I’m not rushing it and I’m checking it as I go along which is basically doubling the amount of time it is taking to write.

Well, I did that on Friday night and I’ve been doing it most of today. Well, except when Jamie and I went to KFC. We were planning on touring J27 as one does but as we arrived at the round-a-bout we were shocked at the level of traffic. Shocked I say. Needless to say we didn’t go in any shops, we just fancied some good ol’ chicken.

I continued throughout the evening until late Saturday night (not too long ago actually) when I popped into Leona’s to see how she was doing. We watched some ‘Two Pints’ on BBC Three and some ‘Scrubs’, two shows I really do love.

Oh and I’ve just enabled my magic number. It enables a person to call a chosen number of theirs for three hours a day for nothing (or 15p, once on PAYG). However, the chosen number must be on Orange.

Anyway, the people I talk to the most aren’t on Orange. I don’t ring Matt, Chris, Zoe, Joe, Adam or Imran often enough to justify choosing them. Well, not three hours a day anyway and Leona and Jamie aren’t on Orange (grrr).
So I bestowed the glorious title of ‘Magic Numberee’ on Miss Laura Newey. It made the most sense since.

Drinking copious amounts of Lipton Ice Tea,
Charlie.

I.T. Thumbs Up.

Tuesday night wasn’t that busy after all, which was nice. At least I was working with Laura, that was good but there was no Leona! Something about ‘I covered for someone for Monday’ pfffttt, when I’m working, so should she! Anyway, it still was an okay night after all.

On the same night I went over to the universitie’s edit suite to continue with some video editing I had been doing. Yes, I know its late but uni is better at that time as there are less people about and the internet is much, much faster. I’ve decided I’m going to do a series of mini July Rising videos: the last one was called the ‘Adam Effect’, this one is called the ‘Joe Effect’, Matt and Jamie’s will follow. I’ve also decided that I prefer Google Video as it understands widescreen.

Laura ended up coming over the next day so we, well I could finish her magazine work off for her. I think I could easily work for ‘Now! Magazine’ I just wouldn’t know what the latest trends were, but I could design the magazine pretty easily. She, of course ended up playing Grand Theft Auto way too much.

A bit later on I popped up to the injured Mr Kyle Varney’s house. He’s injured himself playing football, the big girl! Something about a stud to the ankle…I dont know.

I then when to Miss Jennifer Andrews’, Leona’s cousin to see Leona and, of course, Jen. I hadn’t seen Leona for a while so It was nice to. We stopped off at hers, then Tesco for some petrol and then we randomly visited ‘Castle Hill’: a sort-of-famous monument/landmark near Huddersfield. Its actually rather foreboding in the evening and it was really windy so it could have easily been a setting for the next Frankenstein film.

We then randomly visited my University. Specifically the ‘Digital Arts Centre’ – its where everyone takes chicks to impress these days didn’t you know? Well, Leona seemed to like it. On the way back Tesco was once again visited but because I was hungry and wanted a cheap sandwich.

It was an exceedingly enjoyable night and was good to catch up with the Wilsonator. (If I’ve forgot anything Leona, please add it in a comment!)

Today was another day at Uni. A rather important day actually. We chose our final year roles and I’m rather pleased with mine. I’m now the camera operator/director of photography for our documentary. Dan Cooke is directing, Gemma Fanning will produce and Andrew Broughton will capture the sound – he’s also aiding with research. I think its a pretty rock-solid team and we should produce a fantastic documentary.

Tonight I gave Mr Martin Lamb the I.T. thumbs up for his pc. Elite Logistics are off on tour with Trivium tomorrow. Martin is flying to Finland and from there its around Europe. I even set up a webcam so he can see his daughter whilst ‘on the road’, great.

Tonight I also visited the pub with Jamie, Chris and Joe – it was nice to see Joe as I haven’t seen him in a while, the others I’m bored of.

Well, its Muse tomorrow. M.E.N arena, it’ll probably be rather good…I assume.

Charlie.
