Notes from a Tour Manager.

Trampoline.

On Sunday, in the eve I went to Imran’s house. Mainly for Dorito’s and Dip – Yum!

It was Robert Carter’s birthday on Monday so happy Birthday to him!

Anyway, Jamie and I have been recording some drum tracks in the studio at University. It’s actually pretty hard – mainly because I don’t really know what I want. I tried to do some guitaring for the song I have to create but I didn’t perform very well.

On the Monday I took Joe, Chris and Matt to Kirsty’s in Roundhay so be interviewed in a ‘focus group’. We were asked, by Joe about dead celebrities. Crazy.

Jamie and I recorded again on Tuesday night. We were a bit more successful but we need some melodies – something you can’t achieve from drums.

Today I arranged for a meet up with some guys from Uni. We’re filming Trivium’s gig over at St George’s Hall in Bradford – it’s gonna’ be rockin’!

Later on, Charlotte, Laura, Amanda and I took advantage of the good weather and opted for a walk to Oakwell Hall.

Charlotte and I did a spot of trampolining beforehand. That was pretty good actually. I haven’t been on one for a while and Laura thinks I’m scared of them…Hmmmm. Oakwell was pretty good too, really nice day. Here’s a picture.

Laura, Amanda, Laura (Amanda’s sister) and I have just got back from IKEA. They all got meatballs but I opted for the hotdog on the way out. Sam Holland was there, as was Nabil Gorji, great.

And tonight… I think I’m off to Joe’s. I wonder if he’ll interview me about dead celebrities again. I hope not, I’m all cried out.

All Knight Long.

Monday was a meeting day at Uni. I’m trying to sort out a filming of one of Trivium’s gigs on their up and coming UK/European tour, their Bradford date to be precise. Anyway, the budgetary meeting went fine and now we play the waiting game.

I also bumped into Imran and Carmel who then invited me for lunch, which was rather nice of them. We had a Chinese buffet in Bradford, which was nice.

Tuesday, well Laura came round and became instantaneously addicted once again to ‘Rayman’, ‘Crash Bandicoot’ and exceedingly scared of the Wolves on ‘Tomb Raider’ awww. Anyway, a bit later on Jamie came round and we just hung out which was cool.

Jamie and I also came up with this humorous play on words (which Laura finally got and loved):

Yesterday, that’d be Wednesday. Well, I intended to start editing the documentary, ‘Broadband Lives’ but the edit suites aren’t fully working yet, which is pretty much a joke. As I got back into the car to go home Laura called and I ended up going to her’s for a bit. Charlotte also appeared a few hours later and I did some sketches for her – I’ll add ‘artist’ to my CV later.

I mainly went round to the Newey’s to help Laura with her media brief. However, she was more interested in MySpace so that didn’t happen. Both Charlotte and Laura are addicted now (to MySpace), and Charlotte doesn’t even have an account!!!

Later in the evening I called up to IKEA to purchase some lovely Kopperberg Pear Cider. Whilst there I was called into the IFS Office – the glorious new label printer had arrived! It should now only take an hour to tray up Bacon rather than one hour and fifteen minutes!

I then picked up Jamie and we came back to mine and watched ‘Independence Day’ – such a good film. ‘Let’s Nuke the Bastards!’ – The President.

And today. Well today I’ve got to hand in my essay. I’ve already handed it in online (which is the one that matters) but for reference purposes the University wants a physical copy too.

All Knight Long,
Charlie.

Give Stuff Away For Free Day

Friday was very much a ‘lets watch ‘Friends’ for several hours day’. They come every now and again.

This weekend was my weekend to work at IKEA. Overall we had quite dead weekend which resulted in several people being sent home. Not me of course! Curse my long shifts!

Later in the evening I ‘SatNav’d’ it to Mr Stephen Mulligan’s house however, he gave me the wrong post code so I ended up a a few miles from his. Marvellous.

I worked again sunday and once again it wasn’t that busy. Was MFI having a ‘give stuff away for free’ day or something? On the whole I had a good day though as Leona was serving and its easier to make fun of her when she’s working in the same department.

Last night Jamie and I went for a pint to the Pheasant. We then walked over to the the ‘Original’ Mexican theme bar; ‘Chiquito’s’. We had cocktails; Jamie had several ‘Fun on the beaches’ and I had several strawberry daiquiri’s. Yes, we’re men.

Oh, I’ve created a ‘July Rising’ group on the popular social interaction site, Facebook. If I’ve added you, please accept.
