Notes from a Tour Manager.

I’ll Never Really Know.

After the biggest MySpace advertising campaign for any party ever the date finally arrived; it was Chris’ 21st party.

Official party band, July Rising were on the bill amongst others including Hannah Fox singing ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ by Kelly Clarkson and the eloquently drunk Chris.

After the party a few select individuals were invited back to Chris’ house for the official ‘after party’. This ‘after party’ featured an even more drunk Chris bent on ‘chillin’ out’.

The night ended around 0300 soon after Leona rang me to notify me of her current sleeping arrangement; in a car, in the cold. Don’t worry she wasn’t in there for long! She also said Happy Birthday to you Chris…you would have been too inebriated at that time to understand.

The morning after the party. Jamie, Chris, Sterky, Adam and I were due to see Leeds United Vs Barnsley – the significance of this game being the first ever proper football match I’ve watched. On the whole I was rather entertained. The spectators were, on the whole, a rather good bunch – apart from the obvious ‘you’re scum’ chant. What I don’t understand is how people get so into the game; for example shouting at the referee accompanied by a long, deep stare. It’s like their live’s are dependant on the game. This is coming from someone who isn’t really into football so I suppose I’ll never really know.

Charlie.

PS – I’m sure some of you have noticed that I should have used italics in several places within this entry. The reason I don’t is due to the fact that I need to sort out some coding within the site.
When I use the coding around the word I want to italicise, instead of leaning it turns red. I don’t want it to turn red, so I’ve left it out. I’m sorry. I’ll sort it soon!

The World Cup

I rarely make posts about football, in fact this is the first. However, I believe England being knocked out of the World Cup merited one.

It is sad to see a great team once again lose on penalties. England never come out on top when it concerns penalties and tonight, against Portugal was no exception.

Wayne Rooney’s sending off was idiotic. Yes, he should have been booked for pushing Ronaldo but not sent off, no way. We might have had a chance if it wasn’t for that. And the scored-penalty that was dismissed because the keeper wasn’t ready would have helped the team out.

It was great to see Beckham battling it on (off the pitch) after he was taken off, injured. Incidentally, everyone had the spirit to win but of course England’s dream was once again shattered.

How good would it have been if we had won? A nice forty wait. 1966 – 2006. But no, not for us.

Charlie.
