Fabulous Fridays

Wow, its 2007 tomorrow. Time has flown by.

It seems that my email system has been on the fritz these past few days. As said a while back I now forward everything to Gmail as it is much better. However, all those forward emails were still left in my old account thus, building up. You’ve probably worked it out by now that it filled up and wouldn’t let any more through so… I’m now two days behind with emails. Mad.

Anyway on to more pressing matters.

My family Christmas party was really good. I’ve got a massive family so when I do see them all together its really nice. I only see some people once a year so that makes it extra special. This years food wasn’t as good as the last as we had no ‘Manchester Tart’ (its a custard-based tart) which is delightfully delectable however, my auntie was too ill to make it so she didn’t… no excuse. Instead we got some rather nice Gammon which was cooked in, get ready for it…. Coca cola. It was lovely.

After leaving the Christmas party I picked up Leona from work and we headed down to Jen’s. Again, it was nice to see them both. I haven’t properly seen Leona for a while now, except at work and what not. I think we need to schedule another ‘Big Day Out’.

On Friday I worked as usual. It wasn’t too busy. What makes my life easier now, in the Kitchen is two extra ovens. Great.
Friday was also better as Laura opted to work, how nice of her. Unfortunately Mr John Knowd couldn’t ‘ack the ‘Fabulous Fridays’ as I have never called them, which is a shame. So who knows which co-worker I’ll have now… maybe Laura? Kay? Richard H? (yeah right!). I’ll anticipate this lucky person as working Friday nights is exactly the same as winning the Euro Millions lottery – I assure you of that.

So, yeah Laura worked and it was nice to see her. She had a few Tenerife stories, nothing fantastic though. Oh, yes.. I must mention the ‘tan’ she has… yes… ‘tan’…

Yesterday (Saturday 30th) the day went off to a rather active start; Mr Robert Carter and I got on yer bike our bikes and had a decent ride around Oakwell Hall. It wasn’t without copious amounts of mud, but that just made it a whole lot better.

Later on in the day I went over to Zoe’s. We played a game called ‘Articulate’ which I am rather good at to be honest. It’s a describing game; basically it’s ‘Charades’ without the actions and “sounds like…” stuff. Fun.
After Zoe’s; Jamie, Chris, Matt, Debbie, Zoe and myself all went to the cinema to watch ‘Night at the Museum’. Zoe and I have been anticipating this film for a while now and we weren’t disappointed, it was really good. So see it, now.

Good afternoon, Good evening and Good night.
Charlie.

Alight Here For Dewsbury Market…

“Alight here for Dewsbury Market and Town Hall”… thats what ‘the tube’ would say if it stopped in Dewsbury. Actually having an underground system all over the country would be brilliant… but no, we have lovely buses up here! (and don’t forget those highly priced trains).

Anyway, yesterday I decided to go to Dewsbury. I was intending to go to Gamestation to see their XBOX 360 packages. They had several and they were pretty good but I decided that I’d rather have the £340 at the moment than spend it on a console which would probably distract me from my final year essays and what not.

Later in the evening several people arrived at my house. I think it was due to me organising a ‘Secret Santa’ party or something. Yes, thats right. Zoe, Matt, Jamie, Adam, Kirsty, Ollie, Carmel, Imran, Hannah and Chris all came – oh, I must not forget Buffy and Garfield (my cats) too, who were very much part of the party gathering.

As usual it was a very nice night and there were some brilliant presents given out. Weirdly I didn’t take any photos (nor did Kirsty, surprisingly) but Matt, Jamie, Chris and Joe did – I’ll steal them all..well, probably Jamie and Matt’s, so when I see them I’ll whack them on here.

Thanks to everyone for coming.

Tonight is the usual epic-gathering of my family and my Auntie Steph’s house. Her house is the biggest so it makes the most sense having it there, although the party was held at my house for three or so years commencing in ‘96.

Anyway, I’m gonna’ skedaddle back to ‘legally’ downloading lots of TV shows – I’ve not downloaded any for around two months now so I’m rather behind.

Charlie.

It Was Superb. Honest.

I seem to have been receiving a barrage of comments on a entry I posted a while back, it was about windows. Everytime I receive a comment I receive an email telling me about it. However, these ones are just junk.

Christmas is now officially over I suppose. I don’t really like Christmas therefore, I shall be known as Ebenezer Scrooge, only a Christmas-time though. Maybe I need counsilling? I don’t know. I did get a really nice wallet (which was incredibly needed) and the brilliant ‘Guiness Book of Records’ though, which is great.

As I drove home from my aunties not so long ago I noticed how many houses have laden their homes with thousands of twinkling, tacky lights. In this country it is mainly frowned upon I suppose and to be honest I do think it is rather silly but if I did live in America I probably would go all the way, ‘National Lampoon Christmas Vacation’-style and have thousands of lights on my own home where stuff like that is more accepted and mostly praised.

Today I worked. IKEA was wonderfully dead but I wasn’t technically in the kitchen today; I was called for the most important, most crucial job of all, to go and sort out where no person has tried before (well, they have but failed)… the freezer [of death]. Well, anyway Mr Stephen Mulligan and I conquered the white beast and it will hurt no more!

As a naturally-tall etc person, driving in a large and spacious car once in a while is a blessing. Today, I finally got to drive IKEA’s new Skoda Superb. To be honest, it was superb. Honest.

Later on I popped over to my aunties basically to play on my cousins new XBOX 360. However, for a large portion of the night my Uncle and I were busy watching ‘extreme’ videos on the wonderful ‘Ebaums World’; car crashes etc. Brilliant.

Tomorrow, well Today now the usual Christmas Party is back. But Trivium are coming to this one. Sorry, they aren’t really, got you there… its just July Rising.

Bah Humbug,
Ebenezer Scrooge (aka me)

PS – Remember Leona, Except Night…
PPS – I’ve also updated this post.
